Después de casi dos años de estar de
gira en la promoción de su debut en Capitol
de 2003, Ocean Avenue, Key y el bajista Pete Mosely
se mudaron a la ciudad de Nueva York para aclarar
sus mentes y comenzar el proceso de composición
para su siguiente álbum.
El resultado es un álbum más grande
y desafiante, titulado “Lights And Sounds”
– que muestra a Yellowcard con temas más
expansivos sobre el engaño, la guerra y la
madurez.
Las guitarras son más duras, las canciones
son más intrincadas y abarcan un espectro más
amplio de estilos musicales.
Desde el track que le da nombre al disco, “Lights
And Sounds”, que explota con la implacable batería
de Longineu Parsons III y el zumbante ataque de la
guitarra, hasta la suave y asombrosamente grandiosa
“How I Go”, que incluye una orquesta de
25 integrantes conducida por el violinista Sean Mackin,
para muchos Lights And Sounds constituye un gran salto
para Yellowcard.
