“Spin”,
el primer álbum como solista de este ex “Savage”,
es una pieza de pop electrónico digna de cualquier
“banda de chicos”.

El primer álbum como solista de Darren Hayes no se
diferencia en mucho de sus álbumes como miembro de
Savage Garden. El único matiz entre las producciones
anteriores y esta es que “Savage” hablaba solamente
de amor, mientras que “Spin” recuerda a quienes
lo escuchan “que el amor no dura para siempre”.
Para este CD, Hayes escribió 35 canciones de las
que escogió 12 como “la expresión más
honesta y sincera” de su personalidad y su gusto musical.
Las canciones que Darren no incluyó en la producción
aparecen como bonus track en algunos CD’s y otras pueden
bajarse de su sitio oficial en la web (www.darrenhayes.com).
El ex Savage está satisfecho. “Siento que nací
para escribir este álbum”, dijo en un chat con
sus fanáticos a finales del 2001. Luego aseguró
sentir que su carrera musical acaba de iniciar. Esto a pesar
de que se siente agradecido por los años y la música
que compartió con Daniel.

Hayes ya tiene un lugar en la programación de MTV.
Pero ni la cadena de videos musicales, ni los fanáticos
que le siguen los pasos desde hace tres años logran
olvidar su paso por “Savage Garden”.
Hayes lo sabe y promete interpretaré algunos de sus
éxitos cuando realice la gira promocional de “Spin”.
“De todos modos las canciones de Savage Garden son
mías y son parte de mi historia”, escribió
en su conversación virtual.
